PDF OCR Online
Extract text from searchable PDFs and scan image-only documents. Choose English, Arabic, or both languages and download the extracted text.
Browser-based OCR. Your PDF is processed on your device instead of being sent through the Vercel server upload endpoint. OCR creates a new TXT result and never edits, deletes, or overwrites the source PDF.
How to use PDF OCR
- Upload the PDF you want to read.
- Select English, Arabic, or English + Arabic.
- Click Run PDF OCR and wait while the pages are processed.
- Review the extracted text for names, numbers and formatting.
- Download the TXT result.
Why browser-based OCR?
The PDF is processed on your device, so it does not need to pass through the website's server upload endpoint. This also avoids the 4.5 MB Vercel Function request-body limit that applies when files are sent directly to a serverless function. Browser OCR can take longer on large or image-heavy documents, so keep the tab open until processing finishes.
PDF OCR FAQs
What is PDF OCR?
OCR means optical character recognition. It converts text visible inside scanned or image-based PDF pages into machine-readable text.
Can this OCR scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages without a usable text layer are rendered in your browser and processed with OCR.
Does it support Arabic?
Yes. You can choose English, Arabic, or English + Arabic OCR.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. This version processes the selected PDF in your browser, avoiding the server upload size limitation.
Is OCR always accurate?
No. Scan quality, fonts, language, rotation and page layout affect OCR accuracy. Always review important names, numbers and dates.
